“It’s all about the passion,” says owner Louis Branchinelli who was born into the pizza business. Along with partner, Paul Nicotra the men have developed highly successful restaurants. Families flock to their contemporary eateries where mirrors, wood accents, a big skylight, and glass tiles make up the casual Plainview dining rooms and Merrick boasts an arty hand painted
mural and a large catering facility. Both restaurants have lively atmospheres filled with diners who expect the best and that’s what they get.

The partners pride themselves on the fine fresh ingredients, some organic, that go into Louis’ recipes that are familiar dishes with his own twist. They stand behind everything they serve. We started our meal with stuffed peppers, an awesome colorful blend of flavors; then a platter of zesty fried calamari. Shrimp oreganata, scampi style was light on the breadcrumbs and
heavy on the garlic - delicious! Known for their salads, we tried the pecan salad with a harmonious blend of flavors and textures. And of course their pizza, which came out of the brick oven, had a crispy crust and was perfect. For dessert we indulged in homemade nutella pizza, thin crust topped with
nutella and fresh cannoli cream. What an original treat.

The energetic young staff knows their customers and caters to their every need. It’s no wonder that they come back several nights a week. La Piazza has definitely become a home away from home for so many.
