Styled like an understated Manhattan bistro, Pera Bell Food Bar features shades of olive, rustic wainscoting, wall sconces and an unfussy blackboard proclaiming the day’s specials. Owners, Scotti Campbell and John Peragine take pride in their creation. Their goal is to make Pera Bell Food Bar a fun, approachable neighborhood restaurant where you can enjoy a divine burger and a beer while watching the ball game or have a full-course dinner.

Don’t let the casual look of the place fool you; there’s serious food here. John, along with chef de cuisine, Matthew Nelson, crafts unique dishes in the kitchen. We started with one of their signature appetizers, tender Thai glazed short ribs, served in a deliciously rich sauce. A light Ahi tuna and mango tartare came wrapped in a cucumber slice. Our entree of sesame crusted halibut was exceptional, served over incredible wasabi mashed potatoes and topped with Vietnamese cucumber salad. John aims to incorporate the freshest seafood from local fishermen and crabbers as well as local produce. House made confections include a delectable walnut brownie sundae, topped with a mound of homemade whipped cream and sprinkles, that will make you feel like a kid again. For the grown up in you, taste the martinis and mixed drinks, all made with fresh-squeezed juices, or try an offering from the carefully selected wine list which includes several fine Long Island wines.

From the friendly service to the spectacular food, John and Scotti offer the best at Pera Bell Food Bar.
